Head Coach Omar Beasley
With track & field coaching experience going back to 1993, Coach Beasley brings a wealth of knowledge to the Triangle Champions Track Club. Having coached on youth, high school and collegiate levels and experiencing success on all levels, he is proud to bring his tutelage to our youth. He ran track and played football in high school and in college (Grambling St. University (Track only) , NCCU) . Licensed in the ministry since 2002 (Orange Grove) and currently a member a World Overcomers in RTP. USATF Certified Level I Coach. 96' Graduate of NCCU

Coach C. Donnell Mitchell
Coach Mitchell has lots of experience in track and field. In his first year running, he was conference champion in the 1600m and a member of the school record 4x400m relay team. He was a NCHSAA 4A cross country state championships qualifier in both years running and also a NCHSAA 4A state championships qualifier in the 1600m. After high school, Coach Mitchell stopped competing but in 2000, found a new love for the sport and returned to running. Since then, he has completed the New York City and Boston Marathons and regularly places in the top of his age group in events from 400m to 26.2 mile marathons.
Coach Mitchell's has been a junior Olympic middle distance coach since 2005. He is a strong advocate for year-round conditioning and allowing each athlete to use their God-given talents to progress at their own individual pace. Thanks to other coaches and mentors, his junior Olympic athletes have been blessed with success all the way to the national level and he expects to continue that success with TCTC.
Coach Mitchell is a graduate of NC State University (BS Electrical Engineering '92) and UNC-Chapel Hill (MBA '02). He and his wife, Lynette, have 3 boys: Joshua, Coleman, and Blair. |
